LSU now has two scholarship punters. Grant Chadwick — the 6-foot-5 former Middle Tennessee transfer who punted for the Tigers this past season — can return for his junior year. In 2025, he averaged 46 yards per boot, which ranked top 20 among FBS punters.

Randon Fontenette, Vanderbilt football's starter at the "star" hybrid linebacker/safety position, is entering the transfer portal, he announced on Instagram on Jan. 7. Fontenette played in 13 games in 2025 and recorded 52 tackles, down from the 73 he had in 2024. He recorded 6.5 tackles for loss and six pass breakups.

Florida State football has landed a commitment from Auburn transfer quarterback Ashton Daniels.
