BORMIO, Italy – Tallulah Proulx gave her best in the women’s slalom event of alpine skiing Wednesday and provided Team Philippines a strong finish in the 25th Winter Olympics here. The 17-year-old Proulx clocked 1:02.

Alpine skier Tallulah Proulx has become the first female athlete from the Philippines to compete in the Winter Olympics — and at 17, the youngest ever from the Southeast Asian country.

The first woman and youngest to ever represent the Philippines at the Winter Games, the Park City-based skier looked calmer than many veterans in the field as she prepared for her giant slalom debut.

Alexandra Eala has suggested one sport she thinks she would like to do if she was in the Winter Olympics. Eala is one of the most popular players on the WTA Tour right now, which was showcased at the Australian Open this year by the number of Filipino supporters coming to watch her.
